The Japanese people are fascinated with Wiki because it acts much more like a dictionary. With Wiki, they could learn all the necessary within a huge encyclopedia. More importantly, the culture in Japan is such that there isn't much pranksters who updates rubbish content on Wiki. They have better things to do. Maybe it is the way Japanese people are brought up.
