I'll have to read that. I must add that I get a grin from hearing of private investment groups buying the focused monoliths to realize an advantage of non-compliance with SEC laws. Having had to work in such a system, I'm sure the savings are enormous.

After reading Wikinomics it's hard not to think that restrictions like SOX are going to hasten the decline of monolithic corporations in favor of lean, focused enterprises with a lot more supply chain integration.

The chapter on the Chinese motorcycle industry was a real eye-opener for me.

ZOHO et.al. I here what you're saying. They'll do some things, but not all. I'm all for Google staying out of the browser business and focus on their doc/apps and kick Microsoft's tail that way. Chrome will be too much power that I'm confident will be abused.

I've not read Jeremiah's post (I always read your stuff first), but if IT departments didn't have it bad enough before, the whole Sarbanes-Oxley Act is surely the final straw for them. I'm no big fan of the Iron fisted IT departments, but they have some unflexible rules (actually "laws") to enforce. It's a complete farce (like the TSA at the airport).

I do like the new apps that LinkedIn has (at least the Wordpress one I'm using).
